FAQs / In-Class Learning

  • How can I become a Continuing Education instructor?

If you’re interested in teaching, please complete and submit the course proposal form
  • How do I find the total cost of the certificate I am working towards?

Since you only pay for the courses you are taking in the current term, and it is up to you how many terms you take to complete a certificate (within 7 years), it is difficult for us to predict the exact price that you will pay, since the cost of tuition may increase. The best way to gauge the cost of your certificate is by using the fee for the course you are currently enrolled in and multiplying that by the number of courses in the certificate. This will give you a good estimate of the total cost of the program.
  • Are textbooks covered in the cost of my course?

Unless otherwise stated, textbook costs are not included in your course.
  • How will I know if my course has a textbook?

Usually all credit courses have a textbook. Some of our career-oriented training also requires a textbook. If you are unsure you can e-mail coned@lambton.on.ca.
  • How will I know how much my textbook will cost?

For courses offered at Lambton College, you may check with the bookstore to find out the price of your books. Please note that books for OntarioLearn online courses are only available through www.textnet.ca and are not sold at the Lambton College bookstore.
  • How do I know where my class is located?

To find out where you should go for your class, you can login to your WebAdvisor account and click on Class Schedule.
  • How old do I need to be to register in a college course?

Unless otherwise stated, you must be 19 or older or have an O.S.S.D. to register for a credit course. For non-credit courses in the Arts & Special Interest areas, the minimum age may vary based on the instructor's permission. For more information, e-mail coned@lambton.on.ca or call 519-542-7751 ext 3559.
  • What if the course I want is filled?

We will let you know and register you in another course or put your name on a waiting list for the term. If a space becomes available, we will contact you.
  • Is it too late to register?

If space is still available, you may register (or transfer) until the third class of 13 sessions, or the equivalent in a course of shorter or longer duration, with the permission of the instructor. After this period, you may not register, except at the Registrar's discretion.
  • How do I transfer to another class?

You may transfer up to the third class with permission of the instructor as long as there is room in your selected course.
  • Do I get a refund for my in-class course?

If you withdraw within the refund period, you will be eligible for a refund less a $15.00 administrative fee and less any non-refunded material fees. There are some general guidelines regarding our refund policy. The refund policy is if the course duration is more than 5 sessions, you must withdraw before the third class. If the course duration is five or fewer sessions, you must withdraw before the second class. Students who withdraw from workshops in progress are not eligible for a refund. A word about credit courses: If you choose to withdraw from a credit course you must notify the Office of the Registrar immediately to avoid an F grade on your transcript. You will need to follow the proper time line to withdraw without academic penalty.
